BORN IN BARRIO CANNIOGAN, SANTA, ILOCOS SUR CA. 1723. ADOPTED BY FR. TOMAS MILLAN, SHE GREW UP IN VIGAN. IN 1757, SHE MARRIED DIEGO SILANG, A WIDOWER, AND ASSUMED LEADERSHIP OF THE ILOCOS REVOLT AFTER HIS ASSASSINATION. SHE WAS CAPTURED LATER BY SPANISH AUTHORITIES AND EXECUTED ON SEPTEMBER 20, 1763. SHE WAS THE FIRST WOMAN TO LEAD A REVOLT IN THE PHILIPPINES.
