THE BATTLE SPEARHEADED BY THE 121ST INFANTRY, USAFIP, NL, WAS CONCEDED BY AMERICAN MILITARY AUTHORITIES AS \u201cONE OF THE MOST TERRIBLE AND INCREDIBLY DIFFICULT BATTLE OF THE ENTIRE WAR.\u201d HASTENED THE SURRENDER OF THE JAPANESE IMPERAL FORCES UNDER GENERAL TOMOYUKI YAMASHITA.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">THIS MONUMENT IS ERECTED IN HONOR OF THE 3,400 MEN KILLED AND WOUNDED WHO FOUGHT GALLANTLY FOR FREEDOM AND PEACE.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":170892,"parent":0,"template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false},"registry_category":[4457],"level_status":[4424],"labels":[5085,4578,4423,4549,4455,4456,6174],"class_list":["post-164573","historical-sites","type-historical-sites","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","registry_category-sites-events","level_status-level-ii","labels-5085","labels-ilocos-sur","labels-level-ii","labels-region-i","labels-site","labels-sites-events","labels-the-battle-of-bessang-pass"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.2 -
