Mabini’s chair was meticulously designed as a specialized seat for an paraplegic. Featuring a gracefully curved reclining back, a foot panel for support, and ingeniously crafted rotating armrests, this chair catered to the unique needs of its user. The backrest’s curvature, foot panel, and armrests are all adjustable to optimize comfort and functionality.<\/p>\n

The chair’s back, seat, and foot panels were constructed woven rattan strips in the sulihiya method, which exuded a blend of craftsmanship and practicality. This choice of material not only contributed to the chair’s durability but also added a touch of aesthetic appeal.<\/p>\n

Following his return from exile in Guam in the year 1903, Mabini relied on this chair at his residence in Nagtahan, Manila.
