1732/2001 - the year of establishment as a component municipality of Nueva Ecija and the establishment as a city by virtue of Republic Act No. 9022, respectively.

STARS - represent the twenty {23) barangays of Gapan City.

PLOW, CARABAO AND RICE STALKS - represent the main industry of the city which is farming.

CROWNS AND VIRGIN DIVINA PASTORA - stand for the patron saints of Gapan, the Divine Shepherdess and the Three Kings, celebrated on January and May, respectively.

MAP - stands for the map of Gapan. The dividing lines represent the Gapan rice lands, a significant part of the rice granary of the Philippines.

TWO CIRCLES - symbolized the City's Executive and Legislative departments.

BUILDING - stands for the city building which represents the seat of the government of Gapan City.
