THIS COLLEGE WAS FOUNDED BY THE REV. VICENTE ISTEGUI, O.P., IN 1890, FOR THE EDUCATION OF GIRLS. OWING TO THE UNSETTLED CONDITIONS OF THE TIMES, IT WAS CLOSED IN 1898 BUT REOPENED IN 1904.

The National Registry of Historic Sites and Structures is the NHCP’s official record historic sites and structures throughout the Philippines. Under Republic Act No. 10086, the Registry covers historic sites and structures documented by the NHCP, while Section 20 mandates the Historic Sites and Structures Documentation Center (HSSDC) to undertake their survey, identification, and documentation, and to maintain the National Registry.

The Registry serves as a public reference for information on places recognized for their significance to Philippine history and heritage.
