UNDER THIS ROOF IS PRESERVED A CROSS MARKING THE PLACE WHERE THE FIRST MASS WAS CELEBRATED IN CEBU, SUNDAY, APRIL 14, 1521. IT WAS ATTENDED BY MAGELLAN AND HIS MEN. ON THE SAME PLACE, KING HUMABON OF CEBU, TOGETHER WITH HIS QUEEN, SON AND DAUGHTERS, AND ABOUT 800 OF HIS SUBJECTS, WERE BAPTIZED BY FATHER PEDRO VALDERRAMA.
