Jose Rizal is known to be an avid reader and book collector, and a tangible proof of this are a set of around 190 bibliographic cards in the collection of the Rizal Shrine Fort Santiago. These reflect books he either bought, received, or encountered during his extensive journeys throughout the world. These cards cite works related to his study of ophthalmology, languages, and works by his colleagues in the Reformist movement, and even his own.
