Calubian, Leyte

Calubian is a coastal municipality situated on the northern tip of Leyte Island in Eastern Visayas, facing the Visayan Sea and the neighboring island province of Biliran. Originally established as a parish settlement under Spanish administration, it grew into a prominent agricultural and trading center along Leyte’s northern coastline. It officially gained its status as an independent municipality on January 8, 1919, when it was separated from its mother municipality, Leyte.
