PARIAN GATE

PROVIDED COMMUNICATION ALMOST FROM THE BEGINNING OF SPANISH TIMES BETWEEN THE WALLED CITY OF MANILA AND THE CHINESE COMMERCIAL AND INDUSTRIAL COMMUNITY CONFINED TO THE PARIAN, A WALLED VILLAGE BEYOND THE MOST OPPOSITE THIS GATE TOWARD THE PASIG RIVER. THIS GATE WAS OFFICIALLY NAMED IN 1782.

National Registry of Historic Sites and Structures

The National Registry of Historic Sites and Structures is the NHCP’s official record historic sites and structures throughout the Philippines. Under Republic Act No. 10086, the Registry covers historic sites and structures documented by the NHCP, while Section 20 mandates the Historic Sites and Structures Documentation Center (HSSDC) to undertake their survey, identification, and documentation, and to maintain the National Registry.

The Registry serves as a public reference for information on places recognized for their significance to Philippine history and heritage.
